Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups long-grain white rice
- 4 chicken breasts or thighs, boneless and skinless
- 1 stick of butter
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix or seasoning blend
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt (to taste)
- Optional: chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F.
- Grease a baking dish lightly to prevent sticking.
- Spread the uncooked rice evenly across the bottom of the dish.
- Place the chicken on top of the rice in a single layer.
- Sprinkle the seasonings evenly over the chicken and rice.
- Pour in the broth to ensure the rice has enough liquid to cook properly.
- Dot the butter across the top of the dish.
- Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake until the rice is tender and the chicken is fully cooked, about 50-60 minutes.
- Remove the foil near the end for a lightly golden top.
- Let it rest before serving to allow the flavors to settle.
Notes
Feel free to customize with vegetables or adjust the butter and broth for a lighter version.
