Description
Festive and playful Mummy Hot Dogs wrapped in golden dough make for a perfect Halloween treat or family dinner.
Ingredients
- Hot dogs (beef, turkey, chicken, or plant-based)
- Refrigerated crescent dough or puff pastry
- Mustard or ketchup (for eyes and dipping)
- Egg wash (optional)
- Flour (for dusting)
- Cheese strips or mini slices (optional)
- Greek yogurt (as a lighter dip option)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Open the crescent dough and gently unroll it on a lightly floured surface.
- Pinch the seams together if needed, then cut the dough into thin strips.
- Wrap each hot dog with the dough strips, leaving a small gap near the top for the mummy face.
- Place the wrapped hot dogs on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the dough lightly with egg wash for a shinier finish, if desired.
- Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the dough is puffed and golden brown.
- Let them cool for a few minutes, then add tiny mustard or ketchup dots for eyes.
- Serve warm while the dough is still tender and the hot dogs are juicy.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, use gluten-free dough or thin potato strips instead of crescent dough.
