- 2 large onions, sliced
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 cup of Gruyere cheese, shredded
- ¼ cup of sour cream
- ¼ cup of cream cheese, softened
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Transfer the bacon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon of grease in the skillet.
- Add the sliced onions to the skillet along with a pinch of salt, stirring gently.
- Cook until caramelized, about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Combine sour cream, cream cheese, and half the Gruyere cheese in a mixing bowl and mix until smooth.
- Fold the caramelized onions and crispy bacon into the cream mixture.
- Pour the mixture into a baking dish and top with the remaining Gruyere cheese.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top.
Notes
