- 1 lb Ground beef
- 2 Onions, thinly sliced
- 1 package French onion soup mix
- 1/2 cup Bread crumbs
- 1 Egg
- 1 cup Mozzarella cheese, shredded
Instructions
- Prep the onions: Slice your onions thinly.
- Make the meatball mixture: In a bowl, combine ground beef, French onion soup mix, bread crumbs, egg, and a bit of salt and pepper.
- Form the meatballs: Shape the mixture into small, golf ball-sized meatballs.
- Layer in the crock pot: Place the meatballs in the bottom of the crock pot. Top them with the sliced onions.
- Add liquid: Pour a can of French onion soup over the top.
- Slow cook: Set your crock pot to low for 6 hours or high for 3 hours.
- Melt cheese: About 15 minutes before serving, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top and let it melt.
Notes
Leftover meatballs can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days or frozen for up to three months. Experiment with different meats and cheeses for varied flavors.
