Description

A comforting and indulgent dip made with caramelized onions and crispy bacon, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large onions, sliced thinly
  • 4 slices of bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar recommended)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (optional, such as chives or parsley)

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then transfer to a paper towel to drain excess grease, reserving a little fat in the skillet.
  2. Caramelize the onions by adding them to the skillet with the reserved fat, sautéing on medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes until golden.
  3. Combine the cooked onions, bacon, cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheese, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl, stirring until creamy.
  4. Bake (optional) the mixture in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  5. Serve warm with chips, veggies, or bread.
