Ingredients

- 2 large onions, sliced thinly
- 4 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 cup cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup sour cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar recommended)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh herbs (optional, such as chives or parsley)
Instructions
- Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, then transfer to a paper towel to drain excess grease, reserving a little fat in the skillet.
- Caramelize the onions by adding them to the skillet with the reserved fat, sautéing on medium-low heat for 15-20 minutes until golden.
- Combine the cooked onions, bacon, cream cheese, sour cream, shredded cheese, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl, stirring until creamy.
- Bake (optional) the mixture in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- Serve warm with chips, veggies, or bread.
