Description
A deliciously comforting dip made with caramelized onions and crispy bacon, perfect for gatherings and cozy nights in.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large Onions, sliced
- 6 strips Bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 8 oz Cream Cheese, softened
- 1 cup Sour Cream
- 1 cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- 2 Green Onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Begin by slicing the onions thinly; this is key for even caramelization.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until it’s crispy. Remove it and allow it to drain on paper towels, leaving the drippings in the pan.
- In the same skillet, add the sliced onions and sauté them over medium-low heat. Stir occasionally to ensure even cooking until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 20 minutes.
- Once the onions are caramelized, lower the heat and add the cream cheese and sour cream, mixing until smooth.
- Crumble in the bacon and fold in the shredded cheddar cheese until well combined.
- Transfer the dip to a serving dish and garnish with chopped green onions for that fresh finish.
Notes
Feel free to add spices like garlic powder or blue cheese for extra flavor. This dip pairs well with a variety of dippers such as tortilla chips or baguette slices.
