- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1/2 cup (50 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment.
- Melt the butter in a small saucepan or microwave; let it cool slightly.
- Whisk together the sugar and melted butter until glossy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each.
- Sift in cocoa powder and flour, then fold gently until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until edges are set and the center is slightly jiggly.
- Cool in the pan on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before slicing.
Notes
For gluten-free, swap flour for a gluten-free blend. For a healthier option, replace half the butter with unsweetened applesauce.
