Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Form the mixture into a loaf shape in a baking dish.
  4. Prepare the topping by mixing ketchup with Worcestershire sauce and spreading it over the top of the loaf.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  6. Check doneness with a meat thermometer; it should read at least 160°F (70°C).
  7. Rest the meatloaf for 10 minutes before slicing.
