Ingredients

- 2 cups rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup red, white, and blue candies (M&M’s or similar)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Combine the brown sugar, granulated sugar, and peanut butter until well blended.
- Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
- Whisk together the flour, oats, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the peanut butter mixture and mix until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and colorful candies.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of the dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
Notes
For thicker cookies, chill the dough for about 30 minutes before baking.
