Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2-inch piece fresh ginger, sliced
  • 2 teaspoons ground turmeric
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 10 cups water
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (parsley or thyme) optional

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients on your kitchen counter.
  2. Place the chicken bones in a large stockpot.
  3. Add chopped onion, garlic, ginger, carrots, and celery.
  4. Sprinkle in turmeric, bay leaf, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add water to cover the bones and vegetables, bring to a boil.
