Description

A delightful and comforting cake featuring moist yellow cake, sweet strawberries, and a creamy cream cheese swirl.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box of yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup of water (or milk for a richer flavor)
  • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil (or olive oil for a twist)
  • 3 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 1/2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the yellow cake mix, water (or milk), vegetable oil, and eggs until smooth.
  3. Pour half of the cake batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan and layer the sliced strawberries on top.
  4. In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until creamy, then mix in the powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth; dollop this over the strawberries.
  5. Pour the remaining cake batter over the cream cheese layer and bake for 35 to 40 minutes.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes, slice, and enjoy warm.

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for best results. For healthier options, try a sugar-free cake mix or Greek yogurt instead of eggs. Allow the cake to cool for cleaner slices.
