- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

- 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2–4 tablespoons milk for frosting (adjusted)
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour and baking powder. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Prepare the frosting by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth; add food coloring if desired.
- Frost cooled cookies generously and let dry.
Notes
Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for fluffier cookies. Use fresh baking ingredients for best results.
