Description

A comforting dish that combines tender cabbage, flavorful meat, and fragrant spices, perfect for family gatherings and weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 large head of green cabbage
  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1 cup onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 cups tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Remove the core from the cabbage head and peel off about 12 leaves.
  2. In a skillet, brown the ground meat, onions, and garlic until meat is no longer pink. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour a bit of tomato sauce at the bottom of the slow cooker. Layer half of the meat mixture evenly.
  4. Place a few cabbage leaves on top of the meat mixture.
  5. Continue layering with the rest of the meat and cabbage leaves, finishing with a layer of diced tomatoes and remaining sauce.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.

Notes

For added flavor, consider adding fresh herbs or cheese during the last minutes of cooking.
