- 1 large head of green cabbage
- 1 pound ground beef or turkey
- 1 cup onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Remove the core from the cabbage head and peel off about 12 leaves.
- In a skillet, brown the ground meat, onions, and garlic until meat is no longer pink. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Pour a bit of tomato sauce at the bottom of the slow cooker. Layer half of the meat mixture evenly.
- Place a few cabbage leaves on top of the meat mixture.
- Continue layering with the rest of the meat and cabbage leaves, finishing with a layer of diced tomatoes and remaining sauce.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
Notes
For added flavor, consider adding fresh herbs or cheese during the last minutes of cooking.
