  • 1 medium onion, diced

  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Fresh herbs like dill or parsley for garnish
  • Optional: Greek yogurt or sour cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cabbage by removing the core. Blanch in boiling salted water for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground meat, cooked rice, onion, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  3. Lay a cabbage leaf flat, place 2 tablespoons of filling at the base, fold in the sides, and roll tightly.
  4. In a skillet, combine diced tomatoes, tomato paste, salt, and pepper. Simmer on low heat.
  5. Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the sauce and cover. Simmer for 30 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with sauce, topped with fresh herbs or yogurt.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute ground meat with lentils. You can also add carrots or zucchini to the filling for extra vegetables.
