- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups quick-cooking oats
For the Chocolate Frosting:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs, vanilla, and peanut butter to the mixture.
- Combine dry ingredients and add them gradually to the wet mixture. Stir in oats.
- Spread batter in the pan and bake for 20-25 minutes, until edges are golden.
- Prepare frosting by melting butter, adding milk, cocoa powder, and powdered sugar.
- Spread frosting over warm bars. Cool completely before slicing and serving.
