Description

A delicious and comforting dish of perfectly seared steak topped with a rich garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

  • Steak (ribeye or sirloin)
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Butter (unsalted)
  • Fresh Garlic
  • Fresh Herbs (parsley or rosemary)
  • Olive Oil

Instructions

  1. Remove the steak from the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking. Pat it dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil.
  3. Gently place the steak in the pan and sear for about 4–5 minutes to develop a crust.
  4. Flip the steak when it easily releases from the pan, cooking for another 4–5 minutes for medium-rare.
  5. In the last minute of cooking, add butter and crushed garlic, spooning the melted butter over the steak.
  6. Transfer the steak to a cutting board and cover loosely with foil to rest for 5–10 minutes.
  7. Slice against the grain, sprinkle with fresh herbs, and serve.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Can also freeze cooked steak for 2–3 months.
