A delicious and comforting dish of perfectly seared steak topped with a rich garlic butter sauce.
Ingredients
- Steak (ribeye or sirloin)
- Salt and Pepper
- Butter (unsalted)
- Fresh Garlic
- Fresh Herbs (parsley or rosemary)
- Olive Oil
Instructions
- Remove the steak from the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking. Pat it dry and season generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat and add a drizzle of olive oil.
- Gently place the steak in the pan and sear for about 4–5 minutes to develop a crust.
- Flip the steak when it easily releases from the pan, cooking for another 4–5 minutes for medium-rare.
- In the last minute of cooking, add butter and crushed garlic, spooning the melted butter over the steak.
- Transfer the steak to a cutting board and cover loosely with foil to rest for 5–10 minutes.
- Slice against the grain, sprinkle with fresh herbs, and serve.
Notes
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Can also freeze cooked steak for 2–3 months.
