Description
A comforting dish of tender chicken thighs cooked to perfection in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4–6 bone-in chicken thighs
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 4–5 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Black pepper, to taste
- Green onions, for garnish
Instructions
- Rinse and pat dry the chicken thighs, removing any excess moisture. Season with black pepper.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, ginger, and sesame oil until well combined.
- Place the chicken thighs in the slow cooker. Pour the honey garlic sauce over them, ensuring every piece is coated.
- Cover the slow cooker and set it on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). The chicken should be tender and easily pull apart.
- Once done, drizzle some of the delicious sauce over the chicken and sprinkle with green onions. Serve warm.
Notes
For a healthier option, use skinless chicken thighs. You can add vegetables during the last hour of cooking for added nutrition.
