Description
A quick and delicious honey garlic chicken recipe that blends sweet and savory flavors, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken thighs or breasts (boneless and skinless)
- 1/3 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Chopped green onions and sesame seeds, for garnish
Instructions
- Start by combining the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl. Add the chicken pieces, ensuring they are fully coated in the marinade. Let this sit for 10-15 minutes for better flavor absorption.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding the chicken.
- Once the oil is shimmering, add the marinated chicken to the skillet. Sear the chicken for about 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and fully cooked through.
- If you prefer a thicker sauce, remove the chicken when cooked and return the marinade to the skillet. Mix the cornstarch with a tablespoon of water, then add it to the marinade. Bring it to a boil and let it thicken for about 2-3 minutes. Return the chicken to the pan.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
For deeper flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. Use skinless chicken to reduce fat content and add vegetables for extra nutrition.
