Honey Butter Cornbread: A Sweet, Moist Treat

This honey butter cornbread is sweet, buttery, and so easy to make! Perfect for serving alongside any meal, it’s soft, moist, and full of flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 2 large eggs
  • 11/4 cups buttermilk (shaken well)
  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp kosher salt

For the Drizzle:

  • 1/4 cup butter (melted)
  • 2 Tbsp honey

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8-inch square baking dish.
  • In a bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, and honey. Whisk in eggs, then buttermilk.
  • Stir in cornmeal, flour, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  • Pour batter into prepared dish and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
  • Mix melted butter and honey for the drizzle.
  • Poke cornbread and drizzle honey butter over top. Let sit for 5 minutes before slicing.
