Ingredients

- 1 lb Ground Beef or Turkey
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 Garlic cloves, minced
- 1 Bell Pepper, chopped
- 1 can (14.5 oz) Canned Diced Tomatoes
- 1 can (15 oz) Kidney Beans, drained and rinsed
- 2 tbsp Chili Powder
- 1 tsp Cumin
- Salt and Pepper, to taste
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat a splash of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, allowing them to soften.
- Once the onion is translucent, add the ground beef or turkey and cook until browned.
- Stir in the chopped bell pepper and cook for about 5 minutes until tender.
- Pour in the canned diced tomatoes and stir well.
- Add the kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer, reduce heat, cover, and let it cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Adjust seasoning if needed and serve.
Notes
For added flavor, consider garnishing with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lime before serving. Adjust the spiciness by adding jalapeños or additional chili powder.
