Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Beef or Turkey
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) Canned Diced Tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) Kidney Beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tbsp Chili Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat a splash of oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, allowing them to soften.
  2. Once the onion is translucent, add the ground beef or turkey and cook until browned.
  3. Stir in the chopped bell pepper and cook for about 5 minutes until tender.
  4. Pour in the canned diced tomatoes and stir well.
  5. Add the kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
  6. Bring the mixture to a simmer, reduce heat, cover, and let it cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Adjust seasoning if needed and serve.

Notes

For added flavor, consider garnishing with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lime before serving. Adjust the spiciness by adding jalapeños or additional chili powder.
