Description
A quick and flavorful barbecue dish that combines juicy chicken with a sweet, savory teriyaki glaze and tropical ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound Chicken Breast, cut into 1-inch cubes
- ¾ cup Teriyaki Sauce
- 1 cup Pineapple Chunks (fresh or canned)
- 1 cup Bell Peppers, cut into squares (red, green, or yellow)
- 1 medium Red Onion, cut into wedges
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Ginger, grated
- Sesame Seeds, optional, for garnish
- Skewers (wooden or metal, soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes)
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken cubes, ½ cup of teriyaki sauce, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Let sit for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator.
- Prepare the Skewers: Thread the marinated chicken, pineapple chunks, bell peppers, and red onion onto the skewers, alternating ingredients.
- Preheat the Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat for about 5-10 minutes.
- Grill the Skewers: Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 12-15 minutes, turning every 3-4 minutes and brushing with the remaining teriyaki sauce during the last few minutes.
- Serve and Enjoy: Remove the skewers from the grill, let rest briefly, and sprinkle sesame seeds on top before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, substitute chicken with chickpeas or tofu. Avoid overcrowding skewers for even cooking and better charring.
