Description
A cozy one-pot meal featuring diced ham, tender potatoes, and fresh green beans, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound of ham, diced
- 4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 cups of fresh green beans, trimmed
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons of butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 cups of chicken broth
Instructions
- Prepare Ingredients: Start by dicing your ham and cubing the potatoes. Trim and wash the green beans, and chop the onion and garlic.
- Sauté Aromatics: In a large pot or deep skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add Garlic: Toss in the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute.
- Brown the Ham: Add the diced ham to the pot, cooking until it starts to brown, about 5 minutes.
- Potatoes Join In: Add your cubed potatoes, season with salt and pepper, then pour in the chicken broth. Bring it to a boil and then reduce to a simmer.
- Green Beans Time: After about 10 minutes, when the potatoes are nearly fork-tender, stir in the green beans. Cover the pot and let everything cook for another 5-7 minutes.
- Final Taste Test: Before serving, taste to see if it needs more seasoning.
