- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups milk
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook until al dente, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour, stirring for about 1 minute until light golden.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring until the mixture is smooth and thickened, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and add the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir until the cheese is melted.
- In a large bowl, combine the drained macaroni and cheese sauce, mixing well.
- Pour into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbling at the edges.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
