Ingredients

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 cups milk
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the elbow macaroni and cook until al dente, about 6 to 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Whisk in the flour, stirring for about 1 minute until light golden.
  4. Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring until the mixture is smooth and thickened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and add the cheddar and Parmesan cheeses, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Stir until the cheese is melted.
  6. In a large bowl, combine the drained macaroni and cheese sauce, mixing well.
  7. Pour into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and bubbling at the edges.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy!
