Description

A quick and delicious garlic butter shrimp recipe that can be prepared in under 10 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (and a little more for garnishing)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

Instructions

  1. Rinse your shrimp under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter over medium heat in a large skillet until foaming.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes; sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink, then flip and cook for another 2-3 minutes until opaque.
  5. Remove from heat, add fresh lemon juice and parsley, toss to coat, and serve immediately.

Notes

Avoid overcooking the shrimp and burning the garlic for optimal flavor. For a lighter version, substitute half of the butter with olive oil.
