Description

A cozy and flavorful homemade Garlic Butter Salmon that is quick to prepare and perfect for family meals or festive dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each), skin on
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Optional finishing: extra lemon wedges and a drizzle of good olive oil

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  3. Place the salmon skin-side down and cook undisturbed for 4–5 minutes until the skin is crisp.
  4. Flip the fillets and reduce heat to medium; add the butter.
  5. Spoon the melting butter over the tops of the salmon.
  6. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the butter, stirring gently.
  7. After 2–3 minutes when the salmon is just opaque in the center, squeeze in the lemon juice and add lemon zest.
  8. Remove from heat and plate the fillets, topping with garlic butter sauce and chopped parsley.

Notes

For a healthier option, reduce butter to 2 tablespoons. Can also be served with various sides like potatoes or salads.
