A cozy and flavorful homemade Garlic Butter Salmon that is quick to prepare and perfect for family meals or festive dinners.

- 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each), skin on
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Optional finishing: extra lemon wedges and a drizzle of good olive oil
Instructions
- Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
- Place the salmon skin-side down and cook undisturbed for 4–5 minutes until the skin is crisp.
- Flip the fillets and reduce heat to medium; add the butter.
- Spoon the melting butter over the tops of the salmon.
- Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the butter, stirring gently.
- After 2–3 minutes when the salmon is just opaque in the center, squeeze in the lemon juice and add lemon zest.
- Remove from heat and plate the fillets, topping with garlic butter sauce and chopped parsley.
Notes
For a healthier option, reduce butter to 2 tablespoons. Can also be served with various sides like potatoes or salads.
