- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
- 1 cup canned tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, stirring until translucent (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in the minced garlic and grated ginger, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Sprinkle in the turmeric and garam masala, stirring to combine and allowing the spices to toast for a minute.
- Pour in the canned tomatoes, stirring to mix thoroughly. Bring to a gentle simmer and reduce heat slightly, allowing flavors to develop for about 5 minutes.
- Slowly pour the heavy cream into the sauce, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens and turns creamy.
- Add the chicken, ensuring it’s coated with sauce. Cook for about 10-12 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
- Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh cilantro.
Notes
For a lighter option, substitute heavy cream with coconut milk or Greek yogurt. Customize the spice level according to your preference.
