Description
A quick and nutritious sautéed broccoli recipe that brings warmth and comfort to any family meal.
Ingredients
- Fresh Broccoli (1 pound)
- Olive Oil (2 tablespoons)
- Garlic (3 cloves, minced)
- Salt (to taste)
- Black Pepper (to taste)
- Lemon Juice (1 tablespoon, optional)
Instructions
- Rinse the broccoli under cold water. If the florets are large, cut them into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Once the oil shimmers, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add the broccoli to the pan, stirring to coat it in the garlicky oil.
- Sprinkle salt and pepper over the broccoli, tossing it frequently for about 5 minutes.
- If using, drizzle the lemon juice over the cooked broccoli right at the end, give it one last toss and remove from heat.
Notes
For added crunch, toss in some toasted almonds or pine nuts. A sprinkle of Parmesan cheese can elevate the dish further. Perfect alongside roasted meats or as a standalone side.
