- 1 lb ground pork
- 16 oz frozen dumplings
- 24 oz tomato sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Fresh basil (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the ground pork in a large skillet over medium heat until browned, about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Spread a layer of tomato sauce at the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Place half of the dumplings over the sauce.
- Add half of the cooked ground pork and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
- Pour another layer of sauce, followed by the remaining dumplings and pork. Finish with sauce and Parmesan cheese.
- Cover with aluminum foil (shiny side in) and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted.
- Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a vegetarian option, replace ground pork with sautéed mushrooms or lentils. Experiment with toppings like balsamic glaze for a gourmet touch.
