Description

A comforting twist on traditional lasagna, featuring tender dumplings layered with savory ground pork, rich tomato sauce, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 16 oz frozen dumplings
  • 24 oz tomato sauce
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook the ground pork in a large skillet over medium heat until browned, about 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread a layer of tomato sauce at the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. Place half of the dumplings over the sauce.
  5. Add half of the cooked ground pork and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Pour another layer of sauce, followed by the remaining dumplings and pork. Finish with sauce and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover with aluminum foil (shiny side in) and bake for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is melted.
  8. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, replace ground pork with sautéed mushrooms or lentils. Experiment with toppings like balsamic glaze for a gourmet touch.
