- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 packet onion soup mix
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls or baguettes
- Black pepper and salt to taste
Instructions
- Lay the chicken breasts in the bottom of your crock pot.
- In a bowl, whisk together the beef broth, onion soup mix, soy sauce, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Gently pour the broth mixture over the chicken, ensuring they are well-covered.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours, or high for 3-4 hours.
- About 30 minutes before serving, shred the chicken right in the pot, and stir in more broth if needed.
- Place shredded chicken on hoagie rolls, top with provolone, and melt under the broiler.
- Ladle the broth into small bowls for dipping.
Notes
For a lighter option, try using turkey instead of chicken. You can also customize with veggies or different cheeses.
