This cozy Crock Pot Angel Chicken features tender chicken in a sweet and savory sauce, perfect for a quick dinner or make-ahead crowds.

- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/3 cup Dijon mustard
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons cold water (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Season the chicken lightly with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika. If you like a browned crust, sear the pieces in a hot skillet for 2 minutes per side.
- Layer the sliced onion and garlic in the bottom of the Crock Pot. Nestle the seasoned chicken on top.
- Whisk together the chicken broth, honey, Dijon mustard, and apple cider vinegar. Pour this mixture over the chicken.
- Cover and cook on low for 6–7 hours, or on high for 3–4 hours.
- Remove the chicken to shred and stir in cornstarch slurry if desired. Cook until the sauce thickens, then return the chicken to soak up the flavors.
- Finish with fresh parsley and a squeeze of lemon if desired. Serve over rice or with sides of your choice.
Notes
Let the dish rest for 10 minutes after cooking to allow flavors to meld. Use reserved cooking liquid to moisten shredded chicken when serving.
