Description
Juicy chicken tenders soaked in buttermilk and coated with a crispy, flavorful crust, perfect for family dinners or festive gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound chicken tenders, fresh and thawed
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken tenders, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
- In a separate shallow dish, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Pour enough vegetable oil into a large skillet to cover the bottom—about 1/2 inch deep. Heat over medium-high heat.
- Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture.
- Place the coated chicken into the hot oil, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Transfer cooked tenders to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil, then serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
For a healthier option, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes. Try variations with different spices or coatings for added flavor and crunch.
