Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, and pepper. Add the chicken tenders, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  2. In a separate shallow dish, mix the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour enough vegetable oil into a large skillet to cover the bottom—about 1/2 inch deep. Heat over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the chicken from the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture.
  5. Place the coated chicken into the hot oil, frying for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Transfer cooked tenders to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil, then serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
