Description
A comforting and creamy pasta dish made with ground beef, perfect for cozy dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces of pasta (rotini or penne)
- 1 pound of ground beef (chuck or sirloin)
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: fresh herbs like parsley or basil for garnishing
Instructions
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the diced onion, sautéing for 3-4 minutes until they become translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add the ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon, cooking until browned and cooked through—about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the beef broth to the pan, stirring well to combine. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Then, lower the heat and pour in the heavy cream, allowing it to simmer gently.
- Add the shredded cheese to the sauce, stirring continuously until it melts. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Add the drained pasta to the sauce, gently tossing everything together until well coated.
Notes
For a healthier option, swap heavy cream for Greek yogurt. Add seasonal vegetables for extra nutrition.
