Description
A rich and comforting pasta dish featuring garlic and Parmesan, perfect for family dinners.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces pasta (fettuccine or spaghetti recommended)
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Boil a large pot of salted water and cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain, reserving about ½ cup of pasta water.
- Sauté the garlic: In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat, add minced garlic, and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Create the creamy base: Pour in the heavy cream, bring to a gentle simmer, and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir continuously for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Add the cheese: Lower the heat and stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Adjust consistency with reserved pasta water if too thick.
- Combine pasta and sauce: Toss the cooked pasta into the creamy sauce, mixing well to coat every strand.
- Final touches: Serve hot, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.
Notes
For a lighter version, use Greek yogurt instead of heavy cream, or whole wheat pasta for added fiber. Add fresh vegetables like spinach for nutrition.
