Ingredients

  • 2 pounds of Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 cup of whole milk
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and cut the potatoes into evenly sized chunks.
  2. Place the cut potatoes in a large pot, cover with cold water, add salt, and boil over medium-high heat until tender.
  3. Simmer the garlic in butter until infusing flavors, or roast in the oven at 400°F (200°C).
  4. Drain the potatoes and return to the pot; add the buttery garlic mixture and mash.
  5. Mix in the milk gradually until reaching desired creaminess; season with salt and pepper.
  6. Serve in a dish, garnished with parsley.
