Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Rinse and cut your cauliflower and broccoli into florets.
- In a steamer or saucepan, steam the cauliflower and broccoli until just tender, about 5-7 minutes.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat and whisk in the flour to create a roux; cook for about 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens, about 3-5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the cheddar and Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth, then add garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Layer the steamed cauliflower and broccoli in a baking dish, pour the creamy sauce over, and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top if using.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
