- 2 cups milk
- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 4 cups cubed bread
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup diced bell peppers
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- In a skillet over medium heat, brown the sausage, draining excess fat.
- Cube the bread into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- In a large baking dish, combine the cubed bread, cooked sausage, bell peppers, and half of the cheese. Pour the egg mixture evenly over.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese over the casserole.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
For added flavor, prepare the casserole the night before and let it rest in the fridge.
