Description
Delicious bites of banana coated in chocolate and peanut butter, perfect for a sweet treat or a comforting dessert.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ripe bananas
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 cup chopped peanuts or cacao nibs (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare your banana slices: Peel the bananas and slice into 1/2-inch rounds. Lay them out on a parchment-lined tray so they don’t stick.
- Chill briefly (optional): If your kitchen is warm, pop the tray into the freezer for 5 minutes so the slices are slightly firmer.
- Melt the chocolate: In a double boiler or a heatproof bowl over simmering water, melt the dark chocolate chips with the coconut oil, stirring until smooth and glossy.
- Add peanut butter: Stir half a tablespoon of peanut butter into the melted chocolate for an extra swirl of flavor.
- Dip the bananas: Use a fork to dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, or spoon chocolate over the top and let it drip down the sides.
- Add peanut butter topping: Dollop a small spoonful of peanut butter on each warm chocolate-covered banana.
- Sprinkle and set: While the chocolate is still soft, sprinkle chopped peanuts or cacao nibs on top, and finish with a light dusting of sea salt.
- Chill to set: Transfer the tray to the refrigerator for about 10 minutes until the chocolate firms up.
