  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Salt to taste
  • Pita bread or flatbreads
  • Fresh vegetables (tomatoes, cucumbers, red onions)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the garlic, spices, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper for the marinade. Whisk until well-blended.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the bowl, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or overnight).
  3. Preheat a grill or a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the marinated chicken on your hot grill or skillet for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked (165°F internal temperature).
  5. Once cooked, let the chicken rest for about 5 minutes.
  6. While the chicken rests, mix the Greek yogurt, minced garlic, lemon juice, and salt in a small bowl until smooth for the garlic sauce.
  7. Slice the chicken into thin strips and serve warm with pita bread, fresh veggies, and generously drizzle with garlic sauce.

Notes
