Description
A cozy, flavor-packed meal that combines familiar burger flavors in a deconstructed, bowl format for easy sharing and enjoyment.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef (85/15), or ground turkey or plant-based crumbles
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, or soy sauce for gluten-free
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 4 cups mixed greens or lettuce, roughly chopped
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup shredded cheddar or dairy-free alternative
- Pickles, sliced (optional)
- Classic condiments: ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, or your favorite burger sauce
- Optional toppers: crumbled bacon, avocado slices, or a fried egg
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and break it up with a wooden spoon. Cook until browned, about 6 to 8 minutes.
- Push the beef to one side and add the diced onion. Sauté until translucent, about 4 minutes, then stir everything together.
- Add minced garlic, smoked paprika, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Cook for another minute.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in half of the shredded cheese until melted into the meat.
- Build the bowls: divide chopped greens among four bowls, top with beef mixture, then scatter tomatoes, pickles, and remaining cheese.
- Add optional toppers and finish with dollops of condiments. Serve immediately.
Notes
For variations, try swapping toppings or adding extra vegetables for a healthier option. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
