Description
Quick and convenient pork chops coated in a sweet and savory brown sugar glaze, perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless pork chops
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until it forms a paste.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Allow it to heat until shimmering.
- Carefully place the pork chops in the hot skillet. Sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they develop a rich, golden crust.
- Once both sides are seared, spoon the brown sugar mixture over the chops. Allow it to bubble and caramelize for another 2-3 minutes, basting the pork with the drippings.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 145°F for safe consumption.
- Remove the chops from the skillet and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
For extra flavor, add cayenne pepper or consider infusing the marinade with apple cider.
