Description
A light and flavorful pasta dish made with broccoli, garlic, red pepper flakes, and parmesan cheese. Simple and satisfying!
Ingredients

1 pound broccoli (fresh or frozen)

12 ounces short pasta

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

1 handful basil leaves

Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions

Boil the broccoli in salted water for 5 minutes. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water.

Cook the pasta according to package directions, reserving 1 cup of pasta water before draining.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sauté garlic and red pepper flakes for 1 minute.

Add cooked broccoli to the skillet with 1 cup of reserved broccoli water. Simmer for 10 minutes. Mash or blend to your desired texture.

Add cooked pasta and parmesan cheese. Stir for 1 minute, adding pasta water as needed.

Serve topped with fresh basil and extra parmesan.
