Description

A cozy, flavorful dish featuring homemade Italian meatballs, perfect for family gatherings and comfort food lovers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 large egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 jar marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, parsley, Parmesan cheese, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes using your hands.
  2. Shape the mixture into meatballs about the size of golf balls.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of olive oil. Once hot, add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes.
  4. Pour the marinara sauce over the meatballs. Cover and let them simmer for 20 minutes on low heat.
  5. Serve the meatballs with some of the sauce spooned over them.

Notes

Fresh herbs enhance the flavor; avoid overmixing the meatball mixture to prevent toughness.
