  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mash the bananas in a large mixing bowl until smooth, leaving some small chunks for texture.
  3. Stir in the melted butter until combined, then add sugar, egg, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
  4. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture, then add the flour. Fold gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  5. If using, gently fold in nuts or chocolate.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased loaf pan and smooth the top lightly.
  7. Bake for 50–60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Let cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

For a healthy option, substitute Greek yogurt for half the butter. To make it vegan, replace the egg with flaxseed meal and use coconut oil instead of butter.
