Description

A quick and comforting Philly cheesesteak made with ground beef, cheese, and colorful veggies in just 30 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Optional toppings: sautéed mushrooms, jalapeños, or fresh herbs

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks until nicely browned.
  2. Once the beef is cooked, drain excess fat if necessary, then add sliced onions and bell pepper; cook until softened.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until the sauce thickens and garlic becomes fragrant.
  4. Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet with a lid and layer provolone cheese over the mixture, allowing it to melt for 2-3 minutes.
  5. While the cheese melts, slice the hoagie rolls and optionally toast them for crunch.
  6. Generously spoon the beef and cheesy mixture into each hoagie roll and serve immediately.

Notes

You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option. Experiment with cheese alternatives or seasonal veggies.
