Description
A quick and comforting Philly cheesesteak made with ground beef, cheese, and colorful veggies in just 30 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small onion, sliced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Optional toppings: sautéed mushrooms, jalapeños, or fresh herbs
Instructions
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks until nicely browned.
- Once the beef is cooked, drain excess fat if necessary, then add sliced onions and bell pepper; cook until softened.
- Stir in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until the sauce thickens and garlic becomes fragrant.
- Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet with a lid and layer provolone cheese over the mixture, allowing it to melt for 2-3 minutes.
- While the cheese melts, slice the hoagie rolls and optionally toast them for crunch.
- Generously spoon the beef and cheesy mixture into each hoagie roll and serve immediately.
Notes
You can substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option. Experiment with cheese alternatives or seasonal veggies.
